English whisky is most certainly now a thing. Pioneer The English Distillery (formerly known as St George’s) is 20 years old and we have more than 60 distilleries (61 according to the Cooper King English distillery map). Along with that, we also have an English Whisky Guild and, along with it, English Whisky Week – 19-26 April 2026.

In celebration of English Whisky Week, we’ll be throwing a celebration of English whisky in the way we know best: tasting a load of English whisky. We’ll be trying whisky from distilleries that we’ve not tried before, and exploring the breadth of flavour, style and history that have developed over the past 20 years.

We’ll be assembling at The Carpenter’s Arms near Marble Arch, and filling The Chippendale Lounge with tasty whisky. If you want to grab some dinner, make sure you turn up early and explore their pie menu.
