Blended whisky: a topic which we’ve visited previously in Whisky Squad sessions, and which is a source of much misinformation in the whisky enthusiast community. If you think of a Single Malt as a solo instrumentalist, then Blended whisky is the orchestra – and while some Blended whiskies are earnest and hardy brass quintets which get the job done, others are rarefied ensembles that can play with skill, grace, texture and nuance.
We’ve already explored the ideas of Blended whisky, blended malt, blended grain, and single-barrel blends, and more recently we’ve delved into “artisanal blends”. On May 3rd we’re delighted to be joined by whisky ambassador & all-round good-guy Phil Huckle, who is going to lead us through another facet of blended whisky: Luxury blends.
Whisky Squad #35 will be £20 per head, and will be held in The Spying Room at The Morpeth Arms (58 Millbank, Westminster, London, SW1P 4RW).
Whisky Squad sessions are designed to be informal, interactive, and welcoming to whisky enthusiasts of all levels of background & experience. And that includes people who think they might like whisky but aren’t sure yet.
