Ben_MoMKent. Garden of England. Land of hops, white cliffs, decent pubs and Chatham’s Historic Dockyard. However, there is so much more to it than that, and one weekend this April we will be uncovering one of the county’s hidden gems – the office of award winning whisky retailer and drinks innovators Master of Malt.

We will be hosted by their Sales Director, the bearded t-shirt connoisseur Ben Ellefsen, who will lead us through a tasting of some of their most recent independent bottlings and ask us to help choose what they should release next. On top of that the office boasts a small laboratory on-site, where the mysterious Professor Ampleforth (who looks alarmingly like Ben, in a hat) concocts a variety of bespoke beverages, and we will be invited to investigate the wonders of low-temperature distillation and the power of gin.

An afternoon of wonder, all less than an hour away from Charing Cross by train.

Whisky Squad #59 will be held at Master of Malt HQ in Royal Tunbridge Wells on Saturday April 13th, 13:00, £16 per head. You will be responsible for your travel to Tunbridge Wells but we will be coordinating trains for those wishing to travel with the group.
