ginmonkeyYes siree, it’s time again for Whisky Squad to dip into a spirit category outside of our usual remit.  After many, MANY requests for this we’ve finally acquiesced and decided that it’s time to learn about perhaps London’s most relevant spirit: Gin.

As the inspiration and/or the ruin of many an artist, poet, author, aristocrat, unfortunate, and socialite throughout our city’s history, gin holds an irrevocable place in the living fabric of London.  But where does it come from?  How is it made?  And what exactly do we mean when we say “gin”, anyway?

We’re extremely lucky to have secured the attentions of the infamous Gin Monkey to help us navigate these rapids – blogger, cocktailist, imbiber, and brightly shining light: some say that Emma (as she’s known on a more day-to-day basis) personally oversees the popping of every gin cork that goes on inside the M25.  Unless that’s not a complimentary thing to say, in which case ignore it.  It sounded good when I read it to myself just now.

Whisky Squad #61 will be held upstairs at The Gunmakers on Thursday May 2nd 2013, 19:30, £16 per head.

Whisky Squad is London’s friendliest casual whisky spirits tasting group, and enthusiasts of all levels of experience are welcome.  The whole idea is to experience and enjoy, so there’s little to no likelihood that there’ll be a test at the end.

This event is fully booked.
